The Champions Scholarship Program provides two unique opportunities for current employees of the Clinton Public School district to continue their education.
Scholarship applications are open June 1-15 and November 1-25 (providing funds are available.)
The Champion Educator Master Scholarship
The Champion Educator Master Scholarship Program was created in 2021 to assist Clinton Public School Educators who wish to pursue a Master of Education program and remain in the classroom. This scholarship is made possible by a bequest from long-time Clinton educator, Goldie Pettle. The Champion Educator Scholarship provides up to $4,000 upon completion of an approved Master program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Disbursement of the award will be on the following schedule:

The Champion Educator Scholarship provides up to $4,000 upon completion of an approved Master program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Disbursement of the award will be on the following schedule:
- $1,000 one-time scholarship payable to Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
- $3,000 upon completion of two additional years of classroom teaching and/or other non-administration role within Clinton Public Schools after attaining a master’s degree.
Applicant Criteria:
- Be a certified teacher currently employed with the Clinton Public School system for a minimum of eighteen months at the time of applying.
- Have a minimum of three years total classroom teaching experience.
- Intend to continue employment as a classroom teacher after attaining a master’s degree.
- Be currently in progress toward attaining a masters degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in one of the following programs:

Become a Champion Educator Scholarship
The Become a Champion Educator Scholarship Program was created in 2021 to assist Clinton Public School Educators who wish to pursue Bachelor of Education program. This scholarship is made possible by a bequest from long-time Clinton educator, Goldie Pettle. The Champion Educator Scholarship provides up to $3,500 upon completion of an approved Bachelor program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Disbursement of the award will be on the following schedule:
- $1,500 per semester for up to two semesters ($3,000 total) payable to SWOSU.
- $500 cash award after one year of classroom teaching and/or other non-administration role within Clinton Public Schools after attaining a bachelor’s degree.
Applicant Criteria:
- Have at least two years of experience in a non-certified position at Clinton Public Schools.
- Intend to continue employment as a classroom teacher after attaining a bachelor’s degree.
- Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll this year at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in one of the following Bachelor programs:
