TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Thanks to a generous contribution from the M.T. and Helen Gholston Charitable Trust, the Clinton Public School Foundation was again able to give the Gholston Teacher Awards to the five 2011-2012 Clinton Public School Teacher of the Year finalists.  Initiated in 2006, the Gholston Teacher Awards provide a $1,000 honorarium to the finalists from each school site:  Eugene Jefferson of Nance Elementary, Sumner Hernandez of Southwest Elementary, Yvonne Covey of Washington Elementary, Greg McKee of Clinton Middle School, and Brandi Manning of Clinton High School.  Jefferson also received an additional $5,000 for being named the district’s Teacher of the Year, plus a $500 classroom grant from CPSF.
