Art In The Real World

Professional artist Leslee Wood of Clinton was featured in
an assembly at the school. She
visited with the students about expressing themselves through art, taking art
classes as they get older, and the process of entering art contests when the
opportunity arises. She also
showed samples of her own art.
Additionally, students took a field trip to the Oklahoma
City Museum of Art. There they got
the opportunity to view art on display in a formal setting and learn art
etiquette. “The students loved
seeing a variety of different art forms up close,” said Lewis. “And the opportunity to ask questions
about what they were seeing made the experience more meaningful.”
Lewis expressed her appreciation to everyone who contributes
to the Clinton Public School Foundation.
“Our students get opportunities that they would not have otherwise
because of grants from the Foundation,” she said.
