Advancing Excellence in Clinton Public Schools

The Clinton Public School Foundation manages several scholarships that have been established by donors according to their specific preferences.  A Scholarship Committee made up of members from the CPSF Board of Trustees selects the recipients for three of these scholarships, based on review of their applications and personal interviews.

*NEW SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE FOR 2012 CHS SENIORS*

THE NEPARKO FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP IS A $500 AWARD TO A CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PLANNING TO ATTEND SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY IN WEATHERFORD TO MAJOR IN A PHYSICAL OR LIFE SCIENCE.

APPLICATION AVAILABLE IN THE DOCUMENT LIBRARY.  DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 15, 2012.

John & Lorraine Brickner Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by CHS alumnus Robert Brickner (1952) in 1990 to honor his parents, and since that time Mr. Brickner has donated over $55,000 to help CHS graduates attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University.  His purpose is "to provide encouragement and money to get persons started at college who otherwise would probably not go...to expose them to college life with the viewpoint that the strongly motivated students will somehow succeed."

2011 Recipients:     Yolanda Hernandez, Saul Pina, $500 each

K.B. Cornell, Jr. & Elise Cornell Scholarship
Clinton attorney Patrick Cornell and family established this scholarship in honor of his father and aunt in 2005.  "We just wanted to offer a little help to a CHS graduate, and are thankfully in a place where we can," said Cornell.

2011 Recipient:     Ashley Dobbs, $1,000 for one year

Davis-McElmurry Trust Scholarships
Wilma McElmurry, a former Clinton school teacher, provided for the Davis-McElmurry Trust upon her death in 2005.  One-sixth of the proceeds earned by the Trust are donated to the Clinton Public School Foundation to provide college scholarships.
