Advancing Excellence in Clinton Public Schools

CLINTON PUBLIC SCHOOL FOUNDATION AWARDED
TWO TEACHER GRANTS
IN OCTOBER 2011, TOTALING $1,914.

ABOVE AND BEYOND CONSUMABLE REPLACEMENT  Southwest Elementary's 4th grade science curriculum leaders Carla Cruson and Sarah Williams were awarded $314 for their proposal.  This continuation of the "Above And Beyond" grant funded last year replaces supplies utilized in the science enrichment opportunities provided to 4th grade students meeting or exceeding expectations.

ROUNDING UP HANK THE COWDOG'S AUTHOR JOHN ERICKSON  Washington Elementary Language Arts teachers Terry Barnett, Diane McCrite, Stephanie Bridgeman, and Dana Oliver were awarded $1,600 for their proposal, which involves bringing award-winning author John Erickson for presentations to both Washington and Southwest Elementary students.  Students will be encouraged to read books from Erickson's popular "Hank The Cowdog" series, and formulate questions for the author during his interactions with the students.  This project is also being partially funded in partnership with the Western Plains Library System.
